As Ireland's first green energy complex, the centre was designed with sustainability at its core, incorporating renewable energy technologies.
Visitors can explore the field studies room, which explains the area's fascinating landscape and highlights local heritage sites, including the nearby dolmen, ringfort and ancient burial grounds.
The centre also features a fully equipped gym, sauna, coffee dock, multifunctional hall and children's playground. Serving as a focal point for education, culture and community life, it hosts a variety of courses, social events and evening classes, while also providing space for local crafts and art exhibitions. The facility is fully wheelchair accessible.
You can walk to Kilclooney Dolmen from here but you will need sturdy, waterproof footwear as the ground is uneven and boggy.
