Join us at the James Joyce Centre on Saturday, 6th December at 7pm to enjoy this evocative, cinematic take on the classic novel.
This 1977 adaptation of Joyce's novel, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, directed by Joseph Strick, follows the coming-of-age of Stephen Dedalus at the turn of the 20th century. The film poignantly explores the timeless themes for which Joyce is known; national identity and personal belonging, loss of youth and innocence, and the complexities of artistic life.
Doors open at 6.30pm. Tickets are €8.
