The Journal des Dames et des Modes was published in Paris between 1912 and 1914. This stylish periodical was considered to be an expression of the most refined Parisian elegance.

This talk by Joan Barnewell delves into a period known as La Belle Époque, supported by images from Chester Beatty’s collection of fashion prints by some of the most gifted designers and illustrators, it will give a glimpse into the opulent styles of Paris Haute Couture of that time.
