This is a comedy by William Shakespeare thought to have been written in 1598 and 1599.
The play is set in Messina and revolves around two romantic pairings that emerge when a group of soldiers arrive in the town. It’s about love and lovers who pretend to hate each other, and unlike the tragedies that unfold in his other masterworks, this play only has some scheming and a ruined wedding to boast about and most importantly, it has a happy ending!
