This attractive 18-hole parkland course on 115 acres is located only 6km (3.7 miles) from the city centre at Newlands Cross. A mature course designed by Jeff Howe, it offers the golfer a challenging game. Newlands golf course is generally regarded as one of the finest parkland courses in Dublin with newly designed USPGA greens, re-shaped bunkers and many other features. Newlands golf course was designed by the famous James Braid, the first golfer to win the British Open Championship five times.

There are two manicured practice putting greens to hone your putting skills. The Club also has two complete practice greens, consisting of greenside mounds and bunkers, which allows for short game practice. Additionally, there are 2 Driving practice nets along side the carpark. These are open to visitors and members daily.

Founded in 1910 Newlands continues to be a vibrant members club with active members across the ladies, men’s and junior sections. Members can also enjoy non-golfing activities such as bridge, snooker and indoor bowling to name but a few from a long list of other activities available.

While the course has been modified over the intervening years and most recently upgraded under the guidance of Jeff Howes Golf Design it still retains many of the trademark features of its original design and many of the trees that date back to the original layout of the Demesne in the 17th century. Today the course is noted for its mature tree lined fairways, USPGA standard sand-based greens and bunkers built with the latest Sports Crete technology. It is now rightly considered to be one of the finest parkland courses in the country.
