Juliet Ball's ceramics workshop, Cloonmore Pottery, is situated in Moycullen, County Galway, 20km from Galway city, very near the shore of Lough Corrib, and both Knockferry Pier and Carrowmoreknock Pier.
Having trained and worked as a potter in France, Juliet Ball set up Cloonmore Pottery in 2005. The pottery offers a variety of functional and decorative pottery including a range of ash-glazed stoneware, fine porcelain pieces and smoke-fired work. All the work is hand thrown and finished and all glazes are made from natural raw materials.
The workshop is open to view, and visitors are welcome to see the pottery being made. The workshop is usually open but visitors may like to phone first to avoid disappointment.
Juliet Ball sells her work from her studio at Cloonmore, and also at the Galway market every Saturday and at Roundstone market on Sundays during the summer months. She also supplies some shops and will have a stall at the Galway Potters' Market which she established along with potter Stephen Price, at the Spanish Arch during the Galway arts Festival.
