Front Door & Sonnys Bar and Restaurant
Galway City, Co. Galway
The Front Door Pub is a large but intimate premise accessible from both High Street and Cross Street in the centre of Galway Cities Latin Quarter. This historic pub has been tastefully decorated with dark wood, textured walls and stained glass.

The Front Door Pub is spread over two floors and stretches across two streets. It is located in the heart of the bustling Latin Quarter, Galway’s cultural and social hub with Shop Street and Quay Street on the doorstep. All sporting events are screened on large HD TV’s with surround sound throughout the venue so you don’t miss a minute of the action. There is a choice of five different bars including a stylish cocktail lounge.

By night, The Front Door is the place where Galway’s party people come to socialise in a city that’s renowned for its nightlife. Each evening the bar is a hive of activity with drinks served until 02:00. There is also live music seven nights a week including popular bands and well known DJ’s.

The Front Door is also a much loved party venue, catering for birthday, engagement, leaving parties, work nights out and family get-togethers.

A great night starts at The Front Door.

With its own distinctive character, Sonny Molloy's Bar forms part of The Front Door Pub, and Tigh Nora Gin Bar. It was once a drapery shop run by Galway native, Sonny Molloy. The building itself was part of a medieval property built in the 1600s, some of which formed part of the old Galway city walls. The counter of the bar is still the same as when Sonny himself worked behind it.

Sonny Molloy’s were given the opportunity to create their own whiskey label, when Redbreast Whiskey chose Sonny Molloy’s as the first on-trade establishment to release a Redbreast 16year old all sherry single cask. The result is a limited edition and collectable whiskey, sold by the glass or as a gift set in the bar, complete with a pair of engraved Galway Crystal glasses and a certificate of authenticity signed by Master Distiller Brian Nation.
