From 30th of May to June 1st Mountbellew Co Galway will host the European Sheep Shearing & Wool handling Championship. Two fun filled days and three fun filled nights of music and dance for all the family.
On June bank holiday weekend Shearfest 2025 will welcome the elite of European and international sheep shearers and woolhandlers to Mountbellew for what promises to be an enthralling and highly competitive weekend of action.
This prestigious competition will welcome shearers from over 12 countries across Europe, showcasing their skills in a variety of events, including machine shearing, blade shearing and wool handling.
MartBeat: As part of the weekend's entertainment, we are hosting open air concerts from 8 pm til late to include Irish Culture night on Friday 30th, Folk & Country on Saturday and Sunday nights. Family fun weekend - Face painting, Sheep dog demos, craft village, rare sheep exhibits.
