One of many sandy beaches surrounding Smerwick Harbour in County Kerry, Murreagh Beach is popular amongst walkers and is also safe for swimming. Some great sunset views can be enjoyed and photographed from here.

Murreagh Beach, Trá na Muirí (Seaside Marsh), is a beautiful beach set on the eastern edge of Smerwick Harbour in the West County Kerry Gaeltacht. Smerwick Harbour has a number of beautiful beaches. Small pathways connect the beaches, and on an extended walk you have great views of Mount Brandon, Ceann Sibeal and the Three Sisters. This stunning beach is not only popular with families for swimming and sand castle building, it is also a popular spot for sea angling from the shore.

The An Ghaeltacht football pitch sits alongside Murreagh Beach and is home to the An Ghaeltacht football team who have a proud local tradition in the sport of Gaelic Football.
