A festival honouring the balladeer Sean McCarthy takes place in Finuge, Co. Kerry, every August Bank Holiday Weekend. It features a Ballad Competition and Story-Telling Competition, plus Slan Abhaile Rambling House on the Bank Holiday Monday. The weekend aims to promote Irish music, culture, and the legacy of the legendary songwriter Sean McCarthy. The annual ballad competition is one of the highlights of their calendar, attracting talented musicians and enthusiasts from near and far.

This year, we are delighted to have Meadhbh Walsh and band performing on opening night at Teach Siamsa Finuge, on 1st August, for what promises to be a standout performance filled with heart, soul, and rich Irish tradition.
