It runs from Rathkeale in County Limerick to Abbeyfeale, which is on the Limerick and Kerry border. There is lots to seen and do along the route for all the family to enjoy. Along the Limerick Greenway, visitors can pass through the 115m Barnagh Train Tunnel and cross the cast iron Ferguson’s Viaduct, both restored relics of the 19th century train line. Visitors can also tour Desmond Castle in Newcastle West, and visit the village of Ardagh where the iconic Ardagh Chalice was discovered. You can experience the Limerick Greenway in one long day visit or explore it in shorter stages.
