Kitty Clog lives alone on Single Street, the oldest in town. She looks ahead to tomorrow but still clings to yesterday. In her mind live a few colorful characters: Phyllis, a wine-pushing neighbor confronting her mortality; Jack, a self-proclaimed iPod inventor who mocks Kitty’s quirks; and a former yoga teacher turned shady developer eyeing her backyard. There’s also the unsolved mystery of the only man she ever loved—gone without a trace.
The Good Crank blends humor and melancholy to explore the offbeat, in-between life of an older woman navigating a world that no longer fits.
Suitable for all ages.
