Wickedly witty and full of fun – Cautionary Tales is a family opera bringing Hilaire Belloc’s mischievous characters to life. A lively event for all ages, with catchy music, dark humour and unforgettable characters. Opera, but not as you know it!

Spending too much time on screens? Cautionary Tales presented by Opera Collective Ireland with music by Errollyn Wallen, is a wickedly funny opera for families and children (ages 7+), based on Hilaire Belloc’s classic poems. This fast-paced, musical production brings Rebecca, Jim, Henry and Matilda hilariously to life through catchy music, dark humour and unforgettable characters.

Directed by Sarah Baxter and conducted by Stephen Barlow, the cast includes Leanne Fitzgerald, Eiméar Harper, William Pearson and Dylan Rooney.

Touring to Bray (13 Sept), Tallaght (16 & 17 Sept, with a special schools rate on Tues 16), Navan (19 Sept - Culture Night free event, booking essential), and Dundalk (21 Sept).

An Táin Arts Centre is based in the former Táin Theatre, Town Hall, Crowe Street, Dundalk, County Louth. The venue hosts local, national and international performances of theatre, opera, music and comedy and is also a visual arts gallery, with two workshop spaces.
