Achill Heritage Centre can transport you into the early 1800’s. Learn how the bogland of Achill was turned to arable land to sustain life on a hostile barren island that once was dense with trees and where Eagles soared. See how it was transformed over the past 200 years. How outside influence slowly changed the way people lived and farmed.
