Synge & Byrne Café in the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life. Located 8kms from Castlebar, on the N5 in Turlough village, County Mayo. The café provides a wide variety of tasty and seasonal meals and snacks.

Synge & Byrne Café invites customers to sample a wide range of culinary delights. Renowned for its fresh and tasty food, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of dishes including home made soup and soda bread, salad platters and croustades as well as salmon and chicken roulades and savoury plaits. There is surely something here to suit all tastes.

Tasty sweets and treats include luxury gateaux such as cherry berry cheesecake, fresh fruit pavlova, luscious chocolate cake and warm scones and delicious muffins, just perfect after a walk in the museum grounds, or a tour of the award winning museum galleries. Synge & Byrne Café is located in the courtyard alongside the museum shop and is connected to the old Turlough Park House. Groups wishing to use the café and take a guided tour are advised to ring to secure a time for the guided tour before booking the café.
