The Irish Folk Experience, near Castlebar, County Mayo, offers family friendly, hands on workshops suitable for all ages. Immerse yourself in Irish music, try out the instruments, make a family folk band and have lots of fun. No musical experience is necessary.

The Irish Folk Experience takes place at the Glenisland National School, nestled in the foothills of Nephin Mountain, County Mayo. The school has been a landmark for over 150 years and retains the original stone building, with modern additions.

Your teacher will get you going with some basic instructions and have you playing a full song together by the end.

The Irish Folk Experience is suitable for all ages and abilities so it’s perfect for school groups, children’s birthday parties, family activities or even work events. You never know, there might even be a gig in the school yard.
