The Market House, Monaghan, was built in 1792 to the designs of a talented amateur architect of the time called Samuel Hayes. It is built of local grey limestone. The carving and stonework are noted for their uncommon delicacy and clarity.

It is considered one of the most delicate and elegant 18th century buildings in the north.

Exhibitions are usually booked one year in advance. There is an exhibition space and music venue providing a wonderful environment to promote the arts. Every support is given to each individual exhibition to facilitate its success.
