19–22 June, the Bog Trotters Festival celebrates our Peatland Landscape, all events easily reached by train. Funded by the Natura Peatland Community Engagement Scheme and supported by Clara TCF Town & Tidy Towns. The festival showcases Offaly’s rich peatland heritage through guided walks, talks, site tours, art, music, crafts, and drama.
Highlights include live blacksmithing, woodturning with TikTok’s “Plintofplane,” and a free BBQ, with live music. The Irish Architecture Foundation’s Bog Bothy Festival adds a new creative dimension with a custom-built bothy overlooking Clara Bog. Don’t miss the Summer Solstice Celebration with live music from Barnburner, Pippa Molony, Rory Sweeney, Aoife Wolf, & Ever After. Free entry & on-site camping.
