Weir's Bar & Restaurant is famous for its bar and food, served in a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. Their food is home made on the premises, from soups and sauces to delicious desserts. They use local, organic produce when available and a team of international chefs have built up quite a reputation for Weir's. A team of skilled and qualified chefs can cater to your every need, whether it is a special party meal or buffet style evening we will select and prepare the style of food you require. They can also supply your food for a barbecue at your home, or for various styles of outside catering events as well as doing selected dishes from their menus as take-away meals. They pride themselves on the quality of their meats, using Irish Aberdeen Angus for our Sirloin Steaks and Irish Hereford for our fillet. They also have available speciality coffees and a full range of liqueurs.
Weirs premises are wheelchair friendly and if you have a special need, they will try their best to cater for you. Weirs don’t open the restaurant on Monday or Tuesday , the bar opens at 6pm.Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday to Saturday we open 12.30 to 8.30 pm.
Sunday lunch is served from 12.30pm to 3.30pm and a la carte menu until 6pm on Sunday. Bank Holiday Monday lunch is from 12.30pm to 6pm.
Local attractions include the Franciscan Friary within the village, a beautiful church and gardens with outdoor statues of the Stations of the Cross originally built in 1827 and Lough Derravaragh lies to the east of the village which is the setting for one of the most famous and endearing Irish folklore stories ever-the Children of Lir.
