The Cairn Walk is an easy walk that is rich in tree species. The trees to be found are beech, oak, Sitka spruce, pines and Douglas firs. The walk leads onto the Great Ride, a beautiful tree lined stretch that leads you to the Stone Cairn.
This looped trail can be walked in either direction. It is rich in tree species and includes the Great Ride, a beautiful tree-lined stretch, and ‘The Cairn’ from which there are magnificent views up the Great Ride and down the valley across the Valle of Avoca and the Avonmore River.
The walk connects up with the other Slí na Slainte walk near the end with the Pine Trail. It also crosses with the Exotic Tree and Centenary trails.
