Craggaunowen - The Living Past Experience in Kilmurry, County Clare, has expansive outdoor spaces, rare animal breeds and intriguing discovery trails. Explore the roots of Celtic ancestors through their homesteads, animals and artefacts.

Discover the renowned Craggaunowen Crannóg an intriguing lake dwelling from Ireland's Iron Age and early Christian periods. Explore the ringfort, a faithful reproduction of a 4th or 5th century farmer's house, complete with a souterrain, an underground chamber used for refuge during attacks. Uncover the ancient cooking site known as the ‘fulacht fiadh’, or visit the picturesque Craggaunowen Castle, a 15th century tower house overlooking the site.

Explore the 'Brendan Boat', the leather vessel in which Tim Severin and his four man crew embarked on an epic journey in 1978. They sailed from Ireland to the United States in a leather boat, re-enacting the legendary voyage of St Brendan across the Atlantic Ocean.
