Delve into the world of oysters and the local marine life at the Flaggy Shore Oysters at New Quay, Burren, County Clare. Book the Shuck Off Oyster Experience, an enthralling interactive experience. Discover all there is to know about oysters, including how to shuck (open) them, and the variety of ways to taste them.

On the Shuck Off Oyster Experience guests will be invited into the Flaggy Shore's oyster holding and packaging premises at New Quay, Burren, County Clare, where they will receive an educational workshop into the biology of oysters.

Hear how Flaggy Shore Oysters are farmed, how their environment influences their taste, and how the oysters are graded to the finished product for the domestic and export markets.

Guests are also shown the “Pet Tank” which contains many of the creatures that live in the sea outside the window of the Flaggy Shore Oysters. This is hugely popular with visitors and greatly adds to the experience.

This informed and humorous introduction to the world of oysters and shellfish will include teaching guests to shuck (open) oysters before they taste them fresh from the sea.
