Féile na Laoch (The Festival of Heroes) is a once every seven year festival. Inspired by the life and work of one of Ireland's true cultural giants, Seán Ó Riada, the festival celebrates our cultural heroes in every aspect of life.

Féile na Laoch was founded in 2011, with two festivals before now in 2011 and 2018. The festival programme has a wide variety of events including concerts, seminars, pilgrimages and exhibitions.

The main event, An Aeríocht, is an overnight multifaceted open air concert, from dusk to dawn, showcasing seven heroes from each of the following disciplines; poetry, music, storytelling, dance, singing, acting, visual arts and sport. The performances take place on a stage build by the community, in a field amidst the mountains of Cúil Aodha. The event concludes with the people's orchestra performing Mise Éire as the sun rises, before all fade away into the mist until seven years time again.

All events are free of charge to the public.
