Garrettstown Surf School in County Cork, offers surf lessons and rental, stand up paddle boarding, body boarding and kayaking. Activities are suitable for groups and individuals. Summer camps run from June to August. Open to all levels of experience.

Garrettstown Surf School (Gtown) in County Cork offer a range of activities including surfing, bodyboarding, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking. Gtown believes in learning to surf safely, while respecting the ocean and others.

All Gtown instructors are fully qualified, WSA approved surf instructors and beach/pool lifeguards. Wetsuits, boards and all safety equipment are provided, so just bring swimwear, a towel and a lot of enthusiasm. Gtown pride themselves on encouraging people to learn to surf through the correct progressions and to observe safe surfing practice and knowing the rules in the water.

To become an accomplished surfer you need to serve a surf apprenticeship. The instructors offer group lessons or one to one sessions for improvers. Lessons are open to any age (8yrs+) and ability. Gtown also offers stand up paddle boarding (SUP) and kayaking, a great alternative to surfing on a calm day.

Guided SUP/kayak sessions in Kinsale Harbour are a wonderful way to see Ireland's coastline up close and personal. Previous SUP boarders/kayakers have met a seal colony, a Minke whale and a glorious Basking shark. Summer camps run from June to August. Camps are age appropriate (from 8 years to teens) and activities include surfing, educational weather and tide briefings, meet the lifeguards and beach games. Camps prove very popular so book a place early.

If you have worked up a post surf appetite there are plenty of food vendors and a coffee shop located next to Garrettstown Surf School. Other amenities include a public toilet and parking.
