In October of 1994 three student filmmakers disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland, while shooting a documentary. A year later their footage was found. THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT was a cultural phenomenon when originally released in the late nineties. With a crafty marketing campaign that suggested the events in the film were real and the actors involved actually were missing, this sleeper hit grossed almost $250 million worldwide and spawned the ‘found footage’ horror sub-genre. Audiences were polarized, either dismissing it as nonsense or considering it to be one of the scariest movies of all time. Decide for yourself and see it on the big screen for maximum effect.
