Nestled beneath the mountains and lakes of Drumfries in the heartland of the idyllic peninsula of Inishowen in the North West of Ireland, The North Pole Bar is famous across the county for its warm welcomes, jovial atmosphere and expertly-crafted pints.

The bar was established in 1961, when local farmer Francis Breslin purchased the old station house at Drumfries—formerly servicing the historic Carndonagh Line from Derry to Inishowen—and converted it into a small public house and living quarters for his family. Immediately popular as a meeting place for locals and visitors alike, The North Pole has since gone from strength to strength. The modern premises comprises of a cosy front bar with an open fire, as well as a main lounge where visitors can play pool and darts or listen to one the regular traditional music sessions involving local musicians from across Inishowen.

In 2016 The North Pole underwent extensive renovations and now contains a small gallery dedicated to the history of the railway line.
