Busker Brownes Bar
Galway City, Co. Galway
Busker Brownes Bar & Kirbys Restaurant is set in the heart of Galway ’s vibrant & chic Latin Quarter. It has been a meeting place historically for the Tribes of Galway, a soldier’s barracks, a Dominican convent and a rendezvous for Galway’s Society.

Within the walls of Busker Brownes, you will find three somewhat different bars but all having one thing in common…. Top class service and settings. Inside the main door you will find the main bar; a large, spacious and modern area with assorted seating and levels. By day, the place is abuzz with business people, shoppers and tourists all taking a little time out from their day to unwind and get spoilt for a small while. They have a range of coffees, beers and wines as well as an extensive food menu. By night, when the lights are turned down and the candles are in place, ‘Buskers’ is one of the hippest bars in the city. With live music every Monday, Thursday and Sunday night from 10pm, and a DJ with late bar every Friday and Saturday from 9pm, all music tastes are catered for. If you fancy something different, the main bar is alive with tunes every Sunday morning from 12 noon with the Galway bay jazz band. This has been a buskers tradition since they first opened our doors in 1994. The music is fantastic and the crowd is still growing. This bar is also home to a large screen and surround sound system for all your sporting action needs!

Off the main bar, you can find ‘the slate house’. A quaint, cosy and more traditional bar with access to Kirwan’s Lane, one of Galway’s oldest streets. With its stove fire, slate flooring and homely atmosphere, set somewhat away from the hustle and bustle of daily living its popularity is understandable. Offering the same drinks and food menu as the main bar, the slate house also just gives a little bit more quiet time. At night time, it’s a different story! The slate house is one of the places ‘to be seen’ on a Saturday night on the town! As a great location, fantastic bar staff, extensive drinks menu and chic interior, it’s no surprise that the place is so popular!

Upstairs, on our third floor, ‘the hall’ can be found! A magnificent space with stone walls, high ceilings and leaded windows. A very popular and unique party venue in Galway, ‘the hall’ is a must visit bar when in Galway. The hall is open every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night and features a DJ and cocktail menu, it’s where to go for something just a little bit different. The Hall offers free room hire, free DJ and free homemade finger food.
