Béal Organic Cheese is a registered organic product and an award winning organic cheese. It is made in Listowel, County Kerry with tours available in the summer months.

Béal Organic Cheese Ltd in Listowel, County Kerry, was founded in 1987 at a family run dairy farm, located by the mouth of the River Shannon. Nowadays, Béal Organic Cheese is a registered organic product and an award winning organic cheese. Tours are available in the summer months which involve demonstrations of cheese making and tasting. Visitors are recommended to e-mail in advance for touring times and details.

Kate Carmody began making cheese in 1987 after receiving a cheese press and a book as a gift, it became her true love. She produces the most incredible cheeses, the raw milk, handmade cheese, is a wonderful, creamy, cheddar style, crumbly, textured cheese, It’s made on the farm with summer milk from Kate’s own organic herd and needs a good nine months to mature before reaching its optimum taste and texture. There is also the mild organic pasteurised cheddar and mature handmade pasteurised organic cheddar, which takes a year to reach its full potential of flavour. Kate was inspired by the nautral beauty around her in north County Kerry which led the way to her award wining cheeses.

Béal Organic Cheese is available at outlets throughout Ireland.
