With the ocean’s bounty at the doorstep, it comes as no surprise that seafood plays a large part in The Moorings cuisine. The menu is rich and varied with nightly specials being chosen based on the availability of the best local produce. Only the best quality produce reaches the table, from delicious artisan and home-made brown breads to the very freshest fish and shellfish, to the choicest Irish beef and locally-produced vegetables and ingredients.
The candlelit interior and traditional stone walls entice diners to linger over their meal as they study the unusual memorabilia from seafarers of old. Ships wheels, lobster pots, fishing nets and trusty old barometers are just some of the nautical antiques which decorate the Moorings, giving it a unique sense of time and place. Food is never rushed, nor is its enjoyment.
