Carmel Rooney is a professional artist who creates paintings of historical buildings in a working studio at the back of her shop. She sells her original paintings, giclée prints and postcards of her artwork. She is located on Castle Street in the heart of Athlone, County Westmeath.

Carmel Rooney Art is a shop and working art studio set up in September 2021. Her speciality is painting local historical buildings.

Carmel paints using a palette knife and acrylic paints on canvas. Her paintings are scanned at the Copper House in Dublin City and her prints are of a high quality as a result of the scans. Prints are giclée limited editions and signed. All prints provide historical information of the building on the back.

All visitors can expect a warm welcome and a tour of her gallery. All prints and postcards can be posted to free up the visitor from carrying their purchases. There is also seating available for weary travellers.
