John Green’s Greens Berry Farm shop on the Courtown Road, Gorey Co Wexford, is located off Junction 23 of the M11 (follow the signs for Courtown). This small shop in its own private setting showcases all the soft summer fruits he grows at his farm in Tinnock, a short drive away.
In the summer season, the shelves of this shop are loaded with punnets of jewel like fruits. Strawberries, gooseberries, blackberries, tayberries, loganberries and raspberries are all here – produced with minimum chemical intervention for maximum healthy berries grown in and out of doors.
Green's Berry Farm berries are also used to create a fine range of jams and preserves, also on sale here. A chill cabinet stocks Irish farmhouse cheeses and local dry cured bacon and sausages from Pat O’Neill, Wexford. A nearby baker brings confectionery and breads to add to the range. Wexford new potatoes, grown by John on the farm, are also available. On those hot days of an Irish summer – there’s an ice cream machine and a smoothie bar here too
