The May Bank Holiday weekend is the perfect time to visit County Clare, and what better destination than Corofin and the Festival of Finn? Named for the legendary Irish warrior Fionn Mac Cumhail, or Finn MacCool, this longstanding annual festival will start Thursday night, May 1 and continue with events galore until Monday afternoon, May 5. Children's events include a Bealtaine storyteller, a fancy dress parade and children's games. A dance at the hall will get your feet tapping.
And be sure to check out the annual World Championship Stone Throwing Competition, with prizes for the winners! A full list of activities will be available at the festival Facebook page.
