Old records show market days as far back as 1631. Known as the gateway to West Cork, Bandon remains an unspoiled gem. There are two authentic food markets, the indoor country market operating for 40 years on Weir Street which is open on Friday and Saturday mornings. They regularly host tastings days with a choice of falafel and salads, sourdoughs, soda and health loaves, traditional jams, cordials and curds, vegetables and herbs, cakes and flowers all grown and produced within a five mile radius. The outdoor farmers market on Saturdays mornings are from 10:00 to 14:00 and offers lots of local produce that include vegetables, salads, fish, meat as well as fresh pancakes and coffee. Come and experience abundant Bandon.
